Our work

Sponsorship

Sponsoring a Jiamini Scholar forever changes a student’s life. Each year we pair orphaned and vulnerable students in Tanzania with sponsors who fund their secondary school education. Scholarship recipients rank at the top of their classes and have no way to pay for continuing their educations. Sponsoring a student ensures that these bright, dedicated students are able to complete secondary school.

School Improvement

Quality health and academic resources are essential to a good education. Jiamini works with local schools to improve their facilities by purchasing textbooks, providing vocational teaching resources and addressing health issues such as malaria and clean water access.

Teaching American Students

Personal pictures and stories are a great way to teach American students about East African culture and the challenges children their age face in the developing world. We have lesson plans and materials for various age groups on a variety of subjects including animals, history and politics. If you are a teacher and are interested in having a Jiamini volunteer speak to your class, please contact: Brad Bennett brad@jiamini.com
